Castro Makes History in Big League Debut

Hey Smokies Fans,

Friday was a whirlwind day for former Tennessee Smoky Starlin Castro as he left Tennessee to join the Chicago Cubs in Cincinnati for Friday’s series opener at Great American Ballpark.

Castro didn’t disappoint, hitting a homer in his first at-bat and finishing the night with a record-setting six runs batted in during a major league debut as he went 2-5.

For more on Castro’s debut, check out this article by MLB.com’s Carrie Muskat.

We’re certainly proud of Castro’s debut and can’t wait to see how he helps the Cubs chase a NL Central Division title.
